Hard Feelings is a searing record of friendship, masculinity, and graffiti culture that unfolds as an unforgettable, cinematic portrait of New York. The series will be published by Aperture in Majd’s first monograph, forthcoming in spring 2027.

Dean Majd (born in Queens, 1990) is a Palestinian American photographer based in New York. His work has been featured in several group exhibitions, including the 2023 iteration of the Museum of the City of New York’s photography triennial and Greater New York (2026) at MoMA PS1. His work has been published by Aperture, AnOther Magazine, Dazed, GQ Middle East, New York, and The New York Times.

David Alekhuogie is a photographer and artist based in Los Angeles. His first monograph, A Reprise (Aperture, 2025), remixes Walker Evans’s photographs of African art to raise timely questions about authorship and authenticity.

Artist Anastasia Samoylova will lead attendees through her exhibition, which brings together her own photographs of Florida—captured since 2016—with the work of Walker Evans (1903–1975), a pioneering figure in American documentary photography. This dialogue between past and present highlights Samoylova’s engagement with Evans’s legacy while shedding light on pressing issues such as climate change, gentrification, and political extremism.
